Brighty Girl's First Birthday!!

That's right my little baby is ONE YEAR OLD!!!
And......
I'm blogging again!
I got on to check out a blog my sister told me about and broke down and decided I should finally update. The BIGGEST and Latest news is that Brightyn had her first birthday October 14th! Happy Birthday Baby Girl!! And with it she also had her first cake. YUM! Here are a few pictures to get me started again on the blog scene. Just a preview of more to come.

Since We Went Away

Alot has happened in the the last few week for our family. First off, we made it to Nebraska! That's right we are selling alarms again this summer so we will be living in good old Nebraska for the next 4 months. It's been great so far. All the people are so friendly and sales are going great for Brig (knock on wood).

Now we are part of the Cornhusker Nation. EVERYONE here is a fan so here's our little tribute... Go Huskers!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIGHAM! Yep, Brig just turned 25 this week!! We had a fun little party over the weekend complete with decorations and DQ icecream cake. YUM! I think 25 is kind of a big deal and I wanted to give Brig something special for the occasion so with A TON of help from my Grandma Call and Aunt Brenda I made him this quilt of all his t-shirts from high school football. I'm so happy with how it turned out. He loves it! And best of all it was a complete surprise--so there Brig, I can be sneaky. Thank you Grandma and Brenda for all your help!

Brighty loves the quilt too. Now she has something to read while she's doing tummy time.

Speaking of Brightyn...
She is 6 MONTHS now! We are just starting to try out some solid food-if you call rice cereal solid. She didn't like it much at first but she has warmed up to it a bit the last couple times.

I tried dipping her binky in it to get her to eat it. We make a big mess every time she eats, as you can see.

Oh and one of her top teeth just poked through. Poor kid. It was a rough one.

So... Brig was out of town and I got bored and we did a little photo shoot. I wish I had one of those amazing cameras, but even so I think these ones turned out pretty cute. I wanted to keep going and do some in her tutu but she was ready for a nap. Oh well, next time.

By the way... SHE HAS TEETH! How did that happen?!

4 Months and Counting

WOW! I just can't believe it! Brightyn is getting bigger everday. It's strange how she just got here four months ago, but it feels like she has been with us forever. Since she's been here she has become my life and I wouldn't have it any other way! I love this little sweetie so much! And being a mommy rocks! That said she is pretty much all I have to blog about. And I take pictures of her practically every day so here are some highlights from the past few months.

Brighty's first Christmas was so fun! Having her there just puts all the magic back into the holiday. I can't wait til next year when she can actually open her presents.

Brighty loves to hang out in the baby carrier and I love to have two hands again. So we get alot done around the house when she is in it. But more than that we like to go on walks, she usually conks out by the end.

Brightyn's Blessing

Brightyn's was blessed on November 29th (Thanksgiving Weekend) and I'm finally posting the pictures, ha. It was a really special day for us. We had lots of family in town because of the holiday and our bishop asked us to speak, lucky us. Needless to say, I cried alot (we'll blame it on the postpartum emotions). Here's some pictures I took of our little angel.

These were her special accessories. My Grandma Call made the booties. They are the same ones that me and all my siblings wore for our blessings. And I made the bracelet this summer.

Thanks to everyone who came. Here are some group pictures we snapped afterward but we didn't get everyone in them because some people already left.

1 Month Birthday!!

Happy One Month Birthday Brightyn! A whole month has gone by now and we have loved every minute with our little Bright Eyes. Here are some of her firsts and the special moments we caught on camera.

This was her first car ride on our way home from the hospital. It was so fun to bring her home!

This sweet swing was the group gift at my baby shower. This is one of her first times in it. Thanks everyone for the great gift!

Brightyn was a lady bug for her first Halloween. Aunt McKenna got her this little sleep 'n play outfit that was so cute on her. Even though it was a 0-3month size it was pretty big on her, but I still think it was adorable:) We were in Thatcher for Halloween so Brightyn even got to go trick-or-treating with Uncle Spencer. Well sort of, we stayed in the car while Spence ran up to the doors. It was real fun! I'm already excited for next year.

Baby girl just LOVES her bath time! Whether it's in the bathtub or Grandma's kitchen sink she just relaxes and soaks it all in. It's the perfect thing to get her all ready for bed.

Every day we do a little tummy time and she is getting SO STRONG! Check it out she can totally push up on her arms and lift her head up just about as high as it can go. The first time she did it Brigham and I were so surprised, not to mention dang PROUD! But of course we are so proud of anything she does. Even a big burp after meal time gets applause from me.

Grandma Trina got a hold of a baby scale so we got to weigh Brightyn when we were in Thatcher last weekend. We're not sure if the scale was exactly accurate but she weighed in at 10LBS!! We knew she was getting bigger but we didn't think she was that much bigger. Of course she is still tiny, but I can't believe how fast she grows. I guess it's true that you have to savor every moment because before you know it they'll be grown (wipe a tear).

I love nakie pictures. Brightyn sure knows how to strike a pose already. She makes the cutest little faces:) We call this one Pink Steel (look out Zoolander).

She loves to stick her tongue out or her bottom lip. When she was born the nurses kept talking about her little pouty face and saying mama better watch out, but she has just been an angel-who likes to make faces.

Aunt Kassidy was dying to try this bow on her. It's so cute, haha, it's about as big as her head. Thanks for making it Marla. I love it! And thanks for teaching me to make all kinds of bows. She'll be decked out for life!

No this beanie is not from Old Navy or Gap, even though it looks like it. My friend Kelly made it for her and I just love it. It fits her perfect! Thanks girl.

Hopefully this is the last prego picture I take. Only one week until my due date and I wish she was already here. At the last visit doctor said we're both doing fine and she's probably about 8lbs. So any day now...

Elder Stevens

A few weeks back we went up to Thatcher for Brigham's brother McKay's farewell. He did awesome on his talk and it was way fun for all the family to spend time together before the big day. By the way, he's going to the Uruguay Montevideo West mission. Then on Wednesday, August 23, we all went to the airport and cried our eyes out saying goodbye for the next 2 years. McKay is gonna be a great missionary, but we'll all miss him tons! Go get 'em buddy!!

Baby Shower Blast!!

I just think I am so lucky! My mom and sister Toni and my cousins Bree and Dani threw me the dang cutest baby shower I have ever seen! They really out did themselves. You girls are the BEST!! It was loads of fun and we got tons of really great gifts for baby girl. Thank you so much to everyone who came and sent us gifts. We feel so blessed to have so much love and support!

Florida Sunrise

Ever since last summer when we lived in North Carolina I thought it would be so cool to watch the sunrise over the ocean. So one morning I pulled Brig out of bed to go down to the beach and he might not agree but I think it was totally worth it! It was so beautiful! Here are some pics so you can let me know if you agree, but the pictures really don't do it justice.

Pregnancy Update

I made a deal with Brigham that I wouldn't post any prego pics on our blog until we got back to AZ because he wanted it to be a surprise how big I got. So now we're back and I have a little updating to do.

I went to Babies R Us to register the other day and I was so pumped because I got to park in the "Expectant Mothers Parking"! I've always thought it would be sweet when I could finally park there and now I can! Yipee! I better live it up while I still can ;)

This is the last mug shot I had Brigham take. I think I must have been a little over 30weeks here but I can't quite remember because Brig didn't let me post it until now.

This is a picture of all us girls at Olive Garden in Florida. There are three of us that are pregnant so the girls threw us a little joint baby shower. It was way sweet of them and we all had lots of fun. I miss you girls!!!!!

Fun in Florida

The beach is beautiful here and lots of fun. One morning this week we went with everyone to the beach. We had a great time swimming and playing football.

While Brigham is out working his butt off I get to hang out with the other girls out here (I know, it's just not fair). Here's a bunch of us out at lunch for Whitney and Leslie's birthdays. So fun!

After two confirming ultra sounds I think it's safe to say that we have a little girl on the way (Sorry Spence). We're so excited! I'm spending all my free time making braclets, socks, and blankets for her.

Here's my first baby belly picture. I'm pretty proud of it! Now I'm more than half way (22 weeks). Just last week Brigham got to feel her kicking for the first time. It was pretty sweet!

Anson and Tennille beat us to the punch. They had lil' Shaefer on April 27th. He is such a sweet little boy. I'm so excited to be an aunt! The whole family just loves him!!!

Toni's Graduation

So I left Brigham in Florida for a week to go back home. Sounds crazy to leave after only being there a few weeks, I know, but I feel justified for a few reasons: 1. My doctor's appointment 2. Toni's graduation 3. Visiting my new, first, one and only nephew! And Anson and Tennille too of course.

Toni's Graduation was great! I was so happy I got to be there for her. Congratulations Girl! Now on to ASU- Go Devils!

The Drive to Florida

After 30 some odd hours of being on the road in our overloaded car we finally made it to Florida. Our apartment here is sweet; two stories, our own garage and a little pond out back. We don't know what to do with all this extra space. But we do love visitors (hint, hint)!

Cruisin' Mexico

For Spring Break this year we went on a cruise of the Mexican Riviera with the Stevens and half of Thatcher. We had loads of fun. Now Brigham is planning on 4 cruises a year so we can become Premium Cruise Members and get discounts. Yeah right, but it's a nice dream. Maybe someday.

Our first stop was in Puerto Vallarta. We hung out on the beach all day with the Thatcher group. While we were there everyone took turns on the wave runners, a banana boat, and para sailing. Jenny, Kassidy and McKenna all got their hair braided. Thanks Dad!

Our second stop was Matzatlan. We took a "Mexican Limo" to town for shopping and then strolled the beach.

Our last and favorite stop was Cabo San Lucas. We took a glass bottom boat over to Lover's Beach. It was awesome. One side is the Sea of Cortez and the other is the Pacific. On the Pacific side the waves are insane, exactly what Brigham was looking for. We went snorkling in the Sea of Cortez and saw every fish from "Finding Nemo". Super cool!

This is one of our last dinners onboard. Here's the whole family at our table, plus Joel our amazing server. He's basically one of the family now too. The food was amazing every night. Brigham was brave and ate everything they had to offer: frog legs, escargot, raw fish of every kind and anything else you don't normally see on a plate. I wasn't as brave, but I found out I like crab legs. Yum!

Baby On The Way!

It's official we're having a baby! Our first appointment was March 24th. Doc says our baby is healthy and due October 11th. Wow! We are so excited!!
